Surgery Tech II

The Operating Room Technician (ORT) performs duties related to patient care and comfort under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.  Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the ORT functions as a team member in the provision of patient care, prior to during and immediately following the surgical procedure performed in the Operating Room.  In addition, the ORT performs special procedures.  EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:  1. Previous clinical experience in a patient care setting, with successful completion of orientation and training to the point of competence.  2. ORT certification or graduate of an approved OR technician training program or minimum 1 year experience in central processing with hospital training.  LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:  Current CPR certification.
