Requirements
~1 min read- Manage the production workers on designated shift.
- Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems.
- Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Oversees quality function throughout the production area.
- Assures TQM (Total Quality Management) processes and procedures are always followed.
- Assists Operations Manager in completing required USPS and internal reports, job costing reports and application of all USPS postal regulations.
- Assures clear and concise communication of pertinent information between shifts.
- Offers suggestions regarding increasing efficiency of use of equipment, working conditions, and motivation of employees.
- Be responsible for other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience in any of the following areas where familiarity of USPS requirements and/or regulations are applied (presort, mailroom, associated industries)
- Minimum of 2-years of progressively responsible experience in a production or mailing industry environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access along with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, internet, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., or current maximum allowed by your State.
- You must be able to walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodation.
- Based on operational needs must be willing and able to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, days off and/or a different shift with limited or no advance notice
