Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist with excellent communication and customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters (5 days/week on site initially for training). Under the supervision of the Recruitment Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist identifies and attracts highly qualified candidates to work at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, developing talent sources and creating an ongoing pipeline; partners with hiring managers to anticipate hiring needs, including succession planning. This position will manage full cycle recruitment to include sourcing, scheduling, interviewing, facilitating and managing the onboarding process.

  • BA/BS Degree in a related field; equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in a related field may be substituted
  • Certification in Recruitment or Human Resources
  • 3 years of talent acquisition level experience conducting effective sourcing / full-cycle recruiting for a variety of leadership, management, clinical, professional, technical, and support positions.
  • Agency recruiting/sourcing experience preferred.
  • Healthcare industry or related field preferred.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Adept to delivering a high quality recruitment process experience to the applicant and the hiring manager.
  • Proven experience meeting hiring targets with qualified candidates.
  • Develops concrete and actionable strategies for “hard to fill” positions.
  • Partners with the Recruitment Manager to implement intentional and results-oriented “inclusive recruitment strategies” with the goal of our employee population reflecting the communities we serve.
  • Experience conducting effective screening, interviewing, selection, and assessment techniques.
  • Experience creating or leveraging marketing/advertising, social media, and other industry best practices to develop effective sourcing strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of recruitment principles and processes and credentialing/hiring standards for health care professionals and other managerial/professional groups.
  • Extensive experience using Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Proven ability to extract and present analytics from Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Manages “preferred vendor relationships” including monitoring hours worked by “contract employees” to affect complementary transition to FT employment, as needed.
  • Strategic, dynamic, enthusiastic, and quick to take initiative.
  • Highly motivated, goal-driven, result-oriented, and team player.
  • Ability to create a compelling value proposition statement for engaging and recruiting passive, top talent for critical-to-fill positions.
  • Experience with and knowledge of sourcing effectiveness, screening, interviewing selection, and candidate assessment techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands, and accept constructive feedback, while demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in approach.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
  • Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work; If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, a valid CA driver license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
  • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
  • Writes and coordinates job descriptions and internal and external job postings, and develops creative recruitment programs and marketing materials consistent with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Manage full cycle recruitment to include employees’ onboarding.
  • Timely recruiting, screening, interviewing and onboarding of applicants for positions in the organization.
  • Uses behavioral-based interview techniques to assess candidate competency and eliminates unqualified candidates from the hiring process as early as possible.
  • Communicates the hiring process to candidates and provides timely status updates.
  • Understands and makes approved compensation offers based on the organization’s formal compensation guidelines.
  • Stays current with industry trends, economic conditions, and other variables that may motivate candidates to seek career opportunities elsewhere.
  • Develops and maintains a network and database of potential candidates for future needs, including a pipeline of passive candidates.
  • Develops strategic outreach plans and processes to ensure a diverse candidate pool, to include attending career fairs, and professional events to develop relationships.
  • Works closely with the HR team and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop proactive, innovative sourcing/recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Promotes PPLA’s employee referral bonus program.
  • Enters and maintains current, accurate, and consistent information in the applicant tracking system, including but not limited to job posting content, applicant tracking, and response, anecdotal information and other required data.
  • Develops and executes a proactive, innovative, cost-effective recruitment/sourcing strategy to target a diverse pool of qualified applicants for vacancies.
  • Participates in job fairs, open houses. Develops relationships with vocational school/colleges to conduct on-campus interviews.
  • Prioritizes and successfully collaborates with hiring managers for optimal responsiveness and timeliness.
  • Performs reference and background checks, verification of licensure, and/or certification per PPLA policy.
  • Compiles and analyzes information concerning turnovers and other recruitment statistics.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reports as assigned.
  • Maintains thorough documentation.
  • Ensure recruitment efforts support Agency’s ITT Service Standards and Workplace Values.
