Direct the acquisition, operations, management and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles and equipment across multiple regions and states. Oversee maintenance and service scheduling, vendor and dealership relationships, contract negotiations and related fleet and equipment management responsibilities.

  • Oversee and manage the entire fleet operations of the organization in each PRIME region (PNW, CA, Portland). Maintain a visible leadership presence through regular travel (up to 30%) to jobsites and regional offices to support field leadership.
  • Direct the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance.
  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives and maintain the operational efficiency of the fleet.
  • Manage and supervise fleet maintenance and repair activities to ensure vehicles are available and in good working condition.
  • Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to fleet operations.
  • Has thorough knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct analysis of fleet performance and generate reports for senior management.
  • Develop and manage the fleet operations budget.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts for fleet purchases and services.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for drivers and other staff members.
  • Oversee driver training and development programs to improve skills and ensure safety.
  • Manage the disposition of fleet assets, including end-of-life vehicles.
  • Manage the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment.
  • Document and track equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Minimize organizational cost through product standardization and tracking.
  • Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field, and ten plus years’ experience, including three plus years managerial experience, in construction, electrical contracting or similar industries; or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and be insurable with a good driving record
  • Proven work experience in fleet and equipment management or similar role
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures
  • Understanding of transportation and safety regulations
  • Proficient in fleet management software and GPS systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and planning skills

    Work is primarily performed in a warehouse setting with occasional exposure to health or safety hazards such as, but not limited to, electrical hazards, heavy equipment and machinery and inclement weather conditions.  Operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment.  Work may be performed in cramped or awkward positions.  Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying of 50+ lbs. (including heavier loads with assistance).  Travel required to work sites.  Frequent use of personal protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, safety vests, hard hats and steel-toed boots).

    Frequent travel is required across multiple states and regions (up to 30%).

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and regulatory documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conforms to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
