Manual Machinist - Cobra

Under limited supervision, works from blueprints, sketches, or scratch to perform maintenance tasks by cutting and shaping metal to precision dimensions (.001). May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May assist maintenance and operators with minor or major repairs on machine malfunctions.

• →Occasionally aid in repair and maintenance of die tooling such as punches, dies, etc.
• →Work with Management/Maintenance team to provide solutions and support to breakdowns or improvement projects
• →Must be able to operate manual Mill/Lathe/Surface Grinder and other basic metalworking equipment, ProtoTrak or NC experience is a plus.
• →Must be proficient in Geometry/Trigonometry
• →Must be able to use precision measuring instruments (Caliper/Micrometer)
• →Implements safety and good housekeeping practices.

Trade School or 5+ years’ experience working in a machine shop setting.

Regular contacts with Management as well as production personnel.

Tasks are varied, requiring independent action and decision making.
