The Fitter Deck is a skilled member of the Technical Department, responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair and reliable operation of deck machinery and associated equipment.
The role carries out planned and corrective maintenance on equipment including cranes, davits, winches, mooring equipment and other mechanical deck systems, using a combination of mechanical, welding, fabrication and basic electrical skills.
Working closely with Technical Officers and the Deck Department, the Fitter Deck helps ensure critical deck equipment remains safe, operational and maintained to required Company standards.
