Estágio Profissional OPP

If you like working with children and teenagers, our Association could be the right place for you to do your

"Ano Profissional Júnior" (2 vacancies per year)

You will be integrated in one of our Pedagogic-terapeutical Living Groups (max. group size 5) as part of an international team of pedagoges, psychologists and ocupational therapists, who are dedicated to provide a safe space for the teenagers in care so they can develop new skills that help them to face daily life challenges and create a healthier future perspective. We guide our clients to gain autonomy in society by encouraging respectfulness towards themselves, respectfulness towards others and respectfulness towards the world they live in.

Some tasks during your practical training will be:

- Providing pedagogical-psychological care for the young person, both within and outside of the scope of the project

- Accompanying the young person to school and supervising them during breaks

- Theoretical planning and preparation of work projects together with the young person

- Providing theoretical and practical guidance for work

- Providing budgetary guidance and teaching the young person life skills

- Providing guidance and support with regard to grocery shopping, clothing, personal hygiene, etc.

- Motivational work

- Discussing the young person's plans for the future with them and helping them to overcome problems 

- Helping the young person to develop a suitable approach to conflict resolution

- Crisis intervention when the young person encounters problems

Pre-Requisits:

- English skills

- Driving license

- Enjoy working in nature and with animals (this is no DESK-Job!)
