PL: Chief Accountant

Our client, an established and diversified investment and development group operating across multiple sectors and international markets, is looking for an experienced Chief Accountant. Its activities span several business areas and geographies, creating a dynamic environment with multiple entities and complex financial processes. Chief Accountant /Warsaw-based/ PL/2609/CHAC Key Responsibilities: Take full responsibility for the company’s accounting and statutory reporting. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing. Prepare financial statements in accordance with Polish accounting regulations. Oversee VAT, CIT and other tax-related reporting and compliance. Coordinate cooperation with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and public authorities. Supervise accounting documentation, reconciliations, provisions, accruals and fixed assets Ensure compliance of accounting processes with applicable regulations and internal policies. Support management with reliable financial and accounting information. Improve, standardize and automate accounting and finance processes. Support the development of internal controls, reporting procedures and efficient workflows. Cooperate closely with finance, operations and management teams. Use modern tools and technologies, including automation and AI-supported solutions, to improve efficiency and data quality. Requirements: Several years of relevant accounting experience in a comparable senior accounting role. Strong knowledge of Polish Accounting Act and Polish tax regulations. Proven experience with statutory financial statements, month-end and year-end closing and tax reporting. Experience working in a complex or growing business environment. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to take ownership and independently organize accounting processes. Practical, solution-oriented approach and willingness to improve existing ways of working. Confidence working with accounting and ERP systems and openness to new technologies. Very good command of Polish and good working knowledge of English. Experience in real estate, investment, development or another asset-intensive business.
