The Sales Officer – Nutrition & Pharmaceuticals will be responsible for driving the sales, market penetration, and distribution of the Company's pharmaceutical, nutritional, healthcare, and related products.
The role requires a commercially driven professional with sound knowledge of the pharmaceutical and nutrition sectors, capable of developing strong relationships with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, hospitals, distributors, retailers, and other relevant stakeholders.
The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, manage existing accounts, promote products, achieve assigned sales targets, and provide market intelligence to support business growth.
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, nutrition, healthcare, pharmacy, hospital, and retail markets.
- Generate leads and convert prospects into active customers.
- Promote the Company's pharmaceutical, nutritional supplements, medical, and healthcare products to target customers.
- Develop and maintain a strong customer pipeline.
- Conduct regular customer visits and sales calls to generate orders and strengthen relationships.
- Negotiate sales and commercial terms within approved Company policies.
- Follow up on quotations, orders, deliveries, payments, and customer requirements.
- Develop opportunities with pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, nutrition centres, medical practitioners, wholesalers, distributors, supermarkets, and other relevant outlets.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Company's product portfolio, including product indications, benefits, applications, dosage information where applicable, and target customers.
- Present and explain product benefits accurately and professionally to healthcare professionals and customers.
- Promote nutritional products and supplements based on approved product information and Company guidelines.
- Conduct product presentations and educational sessions for relevant healthcare professionals and business partners.
- Ensure that all product information communicated to customers is accurate, compliant, and consistent with approved marketing materials.
- Monitor customer feedback regarding product quality, effectiveness, pricing, packaging, and availability.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with doctors, pharmacists, nutritionists, dietitians, nurses, hospital administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct regular visits to healthcare facilities and pharmacies to promote relevant products.
- Identify healthcare institutions and professionals with potential to generate new business.
- Support product awareness campaigns, medical detailing activities, seminars, workshops, and professional events.
- Maintain a professional image when representing the Company within the healthcare and pharmaceutical community.
- Manage assigned territories, customer accounts, pharmacies, hospitals, distributors, and retail outlets.
- Develop territory-specific sales strategies based on market potential and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales information.
- Monitor customer purchasing patterns and identify opportunities for increased sales.
- Ensure adequate product availability within assigned accounts and territories.
- Build long-term relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers, distributors, pharmacies, retailers, and other sales channels.
- Support distributors with product information, sales activities, and market development.
- Monitor distributor performance against agreed sales targets.
- Identify gaps in distribution and recommend strategies to improve product availability.
- Support the expansion of the Company's distribution network.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nutrition, Food Science, Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A professional qualification or relevant certification in pharmaceutical sales, nutrition, healthcare sales, or a related field will be an advantage.
- Minimum 2–4 years' experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical sales, nutrition sales, FMCG healthcare products, medical devices, supplements, or a related commercial environment.
- Demonstrable experience achieving sales targets.
- Experience dealing with pharmacies, hospitals, healthcare professionals, distributors, or retail channels will be highly advantageous.
- Experience in the Ghanaian pharmaceutical, nutrition, healthcare, or consumer-health market is preferred.
