We are looking for an experienced BrightScript / Roku Developer to build and maintain high-quality applications for the Roku platform. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with BrightScript, SceneGraph, Roku SDK, video streaming, and Connected TV application development.
The role requires a strong understanding of TV-first user experiences, media playback, performance optimization, remote navigation, and Roku certification requirements.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →4+ years of software development experience, with strong experience in Connected TV or media applications.
- →Hands-on experience with BrightScript.
- →Strong experience with Roku SceneGraph.
- →Experience working with the Roku SDK and Developer Dashboard.
- →Strong understanding of TV UI patterns and focus-based remote navigation.
- →Experience consuming REST APIs and handling JSON.
- →Hands-on experience with video streaming technologies such as:
- →HLS
- →MPEG-DASH
- →Adaptive bitrate streaming
- →Understanding of video playback lifecycle, buffering, seeking, and error handling.
- →Experience debugging applications on physical Roku devices using Developer Mode and sideloading.
- →Understanding of memory and performance constraints on Connected TV devices.
- →Good knowledge of Git and modern software development practices.
