We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Inpatient team at Denmark Hill on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled clinician with experience managing adult acute inpatient caseloads. Previous experience working within a Critical Care Unit (CCU) is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing disorders, supporting patients throughout their acute hospital stay and contributing to positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities

- →Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting.
- →Provide specialist assessment and management for patients within the Critical Care Unit (CCU), where required.
- →Deliver evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
- →Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.
- →Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with HCPC and local trust standards.
- →Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.

- HCPC registration.
- Previous experience working with adult acute inpatient caseloads.
- Ideally, prior experience working within a Critical Care Unit (CCU).
- Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
