We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team in an acute hospital setting based in Denmark Hill. This locum opportunity is ideal for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist with experience working with adult inpatients and a strong interest in delivering high-quality care within acute services.
In this role, you will support adult patients presenting with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties, working closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to provide effective assessment and intervention. The successful candidate will be dysphagia competent and confident managing adult acute caseloads within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting.
• Deliver evidence-based dysphagia assessment and intervention in line with professional and clinical guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and local standards.
• Provide patient-centred care and tailored management plans to support rehabilitation and recovery.
• Participate in team meetings, service development activities, and clinical handovers where appropriate.

• Previous adult inpatient or acute hospital experience.
