Rate: £24.00–£32.00 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time / Part-time
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a busy acute service in Basingstoke. This locum opportunity is suited to a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with experience managing adult acute caseloads and providing specialist dysphagia assessment and intervention.
In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary team supporting adults with communication and swallowing difficulties arising from a range of acute medical conditions. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults presenting with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute setting.
• Provide specialist dysphagia assessment and management in line with professional and clinical guidelines.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support effective patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and reports.
• Provide education and support to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.

• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration and membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Previous experience working within an adult acute setting.
• Proven experience in dysphagia management, which is essential for this role.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
