At Pulse Doctors, we are delighted to be working in partnership with an leading university hospital in Norfolk to recruit three Consultant Histopathologists to join a highly regarded and supportive pathology department.
These vacancies are available on either a substantive (permanent) or fixed-term salaried basis and offer the opportunity to develop specialist interests within one of the following areas:
- Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology
- Dermatopathology
- Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology
The successful candidates will join an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services across the group and wider pathology network. Flexible job planning arrangements and dedicated Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) time are available, supporting consultants in their clinical, educational, research, and leadership responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for both established consultants and doctors approaching CCT who are seeking a rewarding role within a progressive and collaborative department.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide high-quality histopathology diagnostic services within your area of specialist expertise.
- →Report a broad range of histopathology specimens and contribute to departmental service delivery.
- →Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings relevant to your subspecialty interests.
- →Support the development and enhancement of specialist pathology services across the group.
- →Supervise and support junior doctors, trainees, and other healthcare professionals.
- →Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
- →Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with GMC standards.
- →Engage in teaching, research, and educational activities where appropriate.
- →Undertake Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) including appraisal, revalidation, CPD, and departmental development work.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Histopathology, or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
- FRCPath qualification (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Experience in reporting general histopathology cases.
- Demonstrable expertise or a strong interest in one of the following areas:
Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology
Dermatopathology
Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology
- Commitment to delivering high standards of patient-centred care.
- Evidence of participation in clinical governance and quality improvement activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to teaching, training, and continuous professional development.
- Permanent or fixed-term salaried NHS Consultant contract: £113,565 - £150,569 (Depending on Experience)
