Consultant Histopathologist - South Wales

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Histopathologist to join our client’s team of dedicated Cellular Pathologists. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant and historic town, with a rich cultural heritage and modern amenities.

• →Diagnosing and studying disease in tissues and organs
• →Examining samples of tissue, usually a small biopsy, and detecting changes that explain what is causing a patient’s illness
• →Working closely with other doctors, scientists, and healthcare staff to manage a patient’s care

• Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Histopathology (or be eligible within six months of interview)
• UK-trained applicants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award by the date of interview
• FRCPath (Part 1 and Part 2)

This is a District General Hospital in South Wales, part of the NHS Wales public healthcare system.

The Histopathology Department is a vital part of the hospital, responsible for diagnosing and studying disease in tissues and organs. The department works closely with other healthcare professionals to provide the best patient care.

A typical day for a histopathologist may involve:
