Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry, you will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults with learning disabilities who present with mental health conditions, behavioural challenges, or neurodevelopmental disorders. You will lead on the development of care plans and risk assessments, contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, and provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff. Your role will involve outpatient clinics, home visits, and close collaboration with community teams, social care, and families. You will also contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician (AC) Status
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Psychiatry of Learning Disability or within six months of achieving CCT at the time of interview
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for inclusion
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-working skills
