A specialist healthcare service is seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team on an 18-bed male and female Eating Disorder Ward. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.

The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient mental health services in a safe and supportive environment, focused on helping patients live their best life.


Responsibilities

You will join a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing, using a personalised, evidence-based approach to support recovery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and developing a therapeutic environment.

  • Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).

  • Supervising referral and admission processes, including contributing to pre-admission assessments.

  • Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment.

  • Participating in management and clinical governance meetings and contributing to service development and strategy.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a strong team player with experience in multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and management planning.

  • Hold full GMC registration, be on the relevant Specialist Register, and provide evidence of registration when required.

  • Hold a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in the appropriate area of Psychiatry.

  • Have experience working in inpatient settings with individuals facing significant mental health challenges.
