General Summary:
We are a large-scale R&D and advanced manufacturing site specializing in high-mix, low-volume production. We are seeking an experienced Operations Program Manager to lead program execution in this complex environment—balancing agility, precision, and speed.
This role is critical to ensure we deliver on multiple concurrent programs while maintaining quality, efficiency, and schedule adherence in a constantly evolving product landscape.
What You’ll Do
* Lead development and management of complex program schedules and milestones
* Facilitate cross-functional meetings to validate build readiness and review changes
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve program issues; anticipate and mitigate material risks
* Implement process improvements and standardize material planning processes and optimize tools
* Mentor team members and manage project priorities and deliverables
* Ensure on-time delivery across multiple active programs with shifting priorities and configurations
* Optimize workflows to manage frequent product changes, engineering builds, and short runs
* Partner closely with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure seamless execution
* Track and present metrics on progress, costs, and program performance
What You Bring
* Proven experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or R&D environments
* Strong ability to manage complexity, variability, and competing priorities
* Experience supporting engineering builds, NPI (New Product Introduction), or prototype-to-production transitions
* Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to balance structure with flexibility in a fast-paced setting
Core Responsibilities
1\. High-Mix Production Execution
* Manage operations across multiple active programs with varying configurations
* Ensure efficient production flow despite frequent changeovers and product variation
* Balance throughput, flexibility, and quality in a low-volume environment
* Partner with R&D and Engineering to support prototype builds, pilot runs, and NPI
* Coordinate production schedules to align with program milestones and shifting priorities
* Serve as the operational bridge between development and manufacturing
2\. Planning & Scheduling Complexity
* Develop and manage production schedules across 30+ concurrent programs
* Optimize sequencing to minimize downtime and changeover inefficiencies
* Manage constraints across labor, materials, and equipment
3\. Process Optimization & Scalability
* Identify inefficiencies in high-mix workflows and implement scalable solutions in material planning
* Introduce tools, systems, and standard work where appropriate
4\. Cross-Functional Leadership
* Collaborate with:
* Engineering (design changes, build readiness)
* Supply Chain (material availability for multiple configurations)
* Production (daily/weekly build schedules)
* Drive alignment in a dynamic R&D environment
Qualifications
Required Experience
* 7–12+ years in operations within:
* o High-mix, low-volume manufacturing
* o R&D or engineering-heavy environments

* Strong material planning in variable, non-repetitive environments
* Expertise in managing complex production schedules and constraints
* Ability to work effectively with engineering-driven changes
* Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Strong communication across technical and operational teams
* Advanced analytical skills
Preferred
* Experience with NPI, prototype builds, or product lifecycle transitions
* Familiarity with MES, ERP, and production planning tools
* Lean manufacturing experience adapted to high-mix environments
* Engineering or technical background (helpful but not required)
