As a Qualcomm Cellular Technologies Engineer, you will design, implement, and validate state-of-the-art cellular technologies across a broad set of technology prototypes, standards, specifications, products, or components within a product. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high quality and capability air interface and modems that meet and exceed industry standards and customer requirements. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or related field. • 5+ years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems. • 1+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports. • 1+ year of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Leverages advanced knowledge of cellular technologies to research, design, standardize, implement, optimize, verify, validate, and commercialize Wireless WAN (or cellular) air interfaces, modem technologies, and related core network. • Designs, optimizes, and implements critical wireless systems and modems. • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop high quality and high capability air interface and modems with high performance (e.g., capacity, coverage, throughput, latency, power consumption) and acceptable cost. • Develops, reviews, and/or verifies models, code, tests and/or simulations. • Executes the integration of architecture and systems into a standard, chipset, platform, or product. • Writes detailed technical documentation (e.g., feature, component, and design descriptions) for complex projects. Level of Responsibility: • Works independently with minimal supervision. • Provides supervision/guidance to other team members. • Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group. • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc. • Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions. • Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $155,400.00 - $233,200.00 The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
