Traveling HVAC & Sheet Metal Journeyman

The Traveling HVAC & Sheet Metal Journeyman installs, fabricates, and maintains HVAC systems and sheet metal components on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across multiple states. You’ll work with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.

• →Fabricate and install HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems
• →Install HVAC equipment and related mechanical components
• →Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and specifications
• →Measure, lay out, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal components
• →Support equipment installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning
• →Troubleshoot installation and system issues
• →Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes
• →Follow OSHA and company safety requirements, including PPE and confined-space procedures
• →Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
• →Coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades
• →Maintain accurate installation, testing, and project documentation
• →Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and less-experienced team members

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC and sheet metal experience
• Strong experience with HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Experience with HVAC equipment, piping, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and related systems
• Strong measuring, layout, fabrication, and installation skills
• Experience with system testing, start-up, and commissioning
• HVAC Journeyman License where required by state or local regulations
• EPA Section 608 certification where refrigerant handling is required
• OSHA 10 certification required
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, and jobsite procedures
• Ability to work effectively with multiple trades and field teams
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively
