Traveling Safety Manager

The Traveling Safety Manager leads safety operations across large-scale industrial and mechanical construction projects in multiple states. You’ll provide field leadership, oversee Safety Coordinators, identify and mitigate hazards, and partner with project leadership to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

• →Lead day-to-day safety operations on assigned projects
• →Supervise, coach, and provide direction to Safety Coordinators
• →Coordinate safety coverage based on manpower, shifts, work areas, and project risk
• →Maintain an active field presence and conduct regular safety inspections
• →Identify hazards and work with project leadership to establish effective controls
• →Oversee high-risk activities including lifting and rigging, fall protection, confined space, LOTO, hot work, excavation, hydrostatic testing, and aerial work platforms
• →Review and monitor JHAs, AHAs, PTPs, HRAs, permits, and lift plans
• →Lead site-level incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions
• →Track corrective actions from inspections, incidents, audits, and client findings
• →Coordinate required safety training, orientations, and emergency preparedness
• →Maintain accurate project safety documentation and records
• →Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, clients, and GCs to address safety concerns
• →Serve as the primary site safety representative for clients and general contractors
• →Monitor safety performance, trends, recurring hazards, and corrective actions
• →Exercise Stop Work authority when conditions present serious or unacceptable risk

• 5+ years of construction, industrial, mechanical, or occupational safety experience
• Previous safety leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction required
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices
• Experience with incident investigations, hazard assessments, inspections, and corrective-action management
• Strong understanding of high-risk construction activities
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop Safety Coordinators and field personnel
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety/project technology platforms
• CSHO, CHST, ASP, OSHA 510/500, First Aid/CPR/AED, or competent-person credentials preferred
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work in active construction environments
