A leading global food safety and quality organisation is seeking a dedicated Junior Analytical Chemist to join their laboratory team in Somerset West. This role is ideal for a high-energy, detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to a fast-growing team focused on service excellence and rigorous quality standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in performing complex chemical analyses to support the company’s commitment to public health and safety. The standard hours of work for this position will be confirmed during the interview process, following the laboratory's operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Execute routine and complex analytical testing using LC-MS/MS and GC techniques to ensure precise data delivery. Maintain exceptionally high standards of laboratory quality and accuracy in line with international protocols. Collaborate with a vibrant technical team to meet daily throughput targets and client deadlines. Document all findings and experimental data accurately using laboratory information management systems. Assist in the maintenance and calibration of sensitive analytical instrumentation. Support the continuous improvement of laboratory workflows to drive business growth and service efficiency. Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related scientific field. A minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working within a laboratory environment. Proven technical proficiency and hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation. High level of computer literacy and data management skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, high-standard team environment. Preferred Qualifications A postgraduate qualification such as a BSc Hons, BTech, or MSc. Practical experience or familiarity with Gas Chromatography (GC) techniques. Working knowledge or previous exposure to ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
