A well-established laboratory and manufacturing organisation is seeking a highly organised, process-driven Office Administrator / Operations Assistant to join their team in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a structured individual who thrives on maintaining orderly systems, managing office logistics, and supporting daily business operations. The successful candidate will handle a diverse range of tasks spanning basic financial tracking, inventory control, staff scheduling, and facilities maintenance. Working hours: Full-time, standard operational hours. Key Responsibilities Financial Administration: Manage the office petty cash float and process basic calculations and invoicing using accounting software. Procurement Support: Assist with the administration of purchase orders (POs) and ensure correct tracking. Document Management: Maintain absolute accuracy across both digital and physical manual filing systems. Inventory Control: Monitor, track, and maintain optimal inventory counts for office and operational consumables. Facilities Maintenance: Oversee building upkeep and coordinate required maintenance activities. Office & Logistics Support: Manage general office administration, monitor the primary inbox, and coordinate incoming collections and outgoing deliveries. Dispatch & Packing: Oversee the packing of goods, utilizing photo documentation to verify accuracy before dispatch. Staff Coordination: Manage the internal staff roster, tracking team leave and coordinating shift allocations. Health & Safety: Act as the designated First Aid officer for the premises. Requirements Proven experience in a structured, process-driven administrative or office support role. Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach to daily tasks. Basic financial numeracy with experience handling petty cash and foundational invoicing. Solid capability in managing electronic and physical filing records. Prior experience coordinating collections, deliveries, or basic logistics. High attention to detail, specifically with verifying packing lists or utilizing photo verification. Valid First Aid certification (or willingness to complete it immediately). Preferred Qualifications Minimum completed Grade 12 / relevant Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
