A prominent international supply chain organisation is seeking a Route and Fleet Controller to take full ownership of their vehicle portfolio. This role is designed for a technical fleet specialist who prioritises vehicle uptime, asset integrity, and total cost of ownership. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a diverse fleet, ensuring every vehicle is tracked, maintained, and operated to the highest safety and regulatory standards. Operating on a full-time shift basis with 24/7 standby, this role requires a proactive professional capable of managing high-value assets and driver conduct in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and optimise delivery routes to ensure maximum fleet density and minimal fuel expenditure. Oversee the full maintenance and compliance lifecycle of all vehicle assets, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum roadworthiness. Manage driver performance and scheduling, ensuring strict adherence to both planned routes and national transport regulations. Monitor live telematics and tracking data to provide real-time routing adjustments and proactive breakdown management. Liaise between internal stakeholders and clients to provide accurate, data-driven delivery updates and ETAs. Conduct regular analysis of fleet and routing data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and workflow improvements. Coordinate 24/7 standby responses for any fleet-related emergencies, accidents, or routing disruptions. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dual Fleet Control and Route Planning role. Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Fleet Management. Strong background in driver management and vehicle technical oversight. Proven ability to work shift rotations and maintain 24/7 standby availability. Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transport for commuting. Fleet Tracking & Telematics (e.g., Mix Telematics, Ctrack, Geotab) Route Optimisation Software (e.g., MaxOptra, Roadnet, or similar) Transport Management Systems (TMS) Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced) Benefits Direct responsibility for both high-value assets and strategic routing outcomes.
