Job Description:

The University of Florida, Department of Chemistry, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry, broadly defined. The appointments will commence on August 16, 2027. 

Successful candidates are expected to conduct innovative research at the highest level and to establish an outstanding, independent, externally funded research program. We seek candidates with a record of excellence in research and scholarship, the ability to excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and who will contribute to the service mission of the Department of Chemistry and the University of Florida. The University of Florida is a land grant, sea grant, and space grant university and home to the most comprehensive university health sciences facilities in the southeast. UF is located in Gainesville, a city of approximately 150,000 residents in North-Central Florida, 50 miles from the Gulf, and 67 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, and within a 2-hour drive to large metropolitan areas (Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville). Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related field.

Preferred: Postdoctoral experience is desirable.
