These multiple Consultant Anaesthetist positions offer experienced specialists a genuine opportunity to shape clinical practice across a diverse and growing patient population in Adelaide's north.

Reporting within the NALHN Anaesthesia, Pain & Perioperative Medicine unit, you will deliver high-quality anaesthetic services across a broad surgical caseload and contribute to the perioperative care model that underpins the hospital's clinical outcomes.

  • Provide consultant-level anaesthetic services across elective and emergency surgical lists
  • Contribute to acute and chronic pain management services within the perioperative framework
  • Participate in on-call rosters, departmental governance, and quality improvement activities
  • Support the supervision and development of registrars and junior medical staff within NALHN
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex anaesthetic cases across multiple surgical specialties
  • Commitment to perioperative care quality and patient safety frameworks consistent with SA Health standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience in a public hospital or comparable high-acuity setting

To be eligible for this position, you must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. You must also have appropriate Specialist Qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

You will be joining a dynamic and expanding Local Health Network that is committed to delivering contemporary, innovative and high‑quality health services within modern facilities.
