The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position with an emphasis on Financial Planning. This is a teaching-focused role responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate financial planning courses. A strong candidate will bring relevant industry experience, a commitment to student success, and the ability to translate real-world financial planning practices into an engaging academic environment. Rowan University recently announced the creation of a School of Financial Planning powered by the support of Edelman Financial Engines. This is a unique opportunity to help build innovative curriculum and programming with the aim of becoming a nationally recognized hub for financial planning education.

Responsibilities

  • →Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester in financial planning and related finance topics (e.g., investments, personal financial planning, retirement, estate, and tax planning, risk management).
  • →Develop and deliver course materials aligned with program learning objectives and industry standards.
  • →Incorporate applied, experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement.
  • →Maintain regular office hours. Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • →Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement initiatives.
  • →Stay current with developments in financial planning practice, regulation, and education.
  • →Engage in service activities that support the department, college, and university as appropriate for a teaching-focused appointment.

Requirements

  • Experience as a financial advisor or in a closely related role.
  • Professional certification in financial planning.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level in financial planning or related topics.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and commitment to student-centered learning.

Assistant or Associate non-tenure track Teaching Professors for this position are expected to hold a terminal degree or its professional equivalent. The teaching positions are 10-month or 12-month, depending upon responsibilities, full-time, non-tenure track appointments. Successful candidates will teach 24 credits over two semesters, with an option to teach overload and summer classes for additional compensation. Positions are renewable based on performance reviews and programmatic needs.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is: 

Assistant Teaching Professor: Ranges 21-24

Associate Teaching Professor: Ranges 25-27
