Professor/Associate Professor on tenure terms or tenure-track Assistant Professor in Philosophy

Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor on tenure terms or tenure-track Assistant Professor in Philosophy in the School of Humanities (Ref.: 533616), to commence in August or September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.  Appointment as Assistant Professor will be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Philosophy.  The position is open to all areas of specialization, but applicants must have an interest in – and commitment to – pursuing teaching and research in philosophy or ethics of AI.

The appointee is expected to develop a vigorous, independent research programme, to excel in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development, and to handle the usual non-teaching duties.
