Classification Title:	Treatment Plant Operator I/II/III
Classification Minimum Requirements:

4 Days/Week – 10 Hours/Day either Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat (Midnight 0000-1000, Day 0600-1600, Evening 1400-0000)

Can rotate or work other shifts and/or 12 hours as needed.

May work a four-day shift rotation and/or a five-day shift schedule, on call as required and emergencies.

Treatment Plant Operator I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Possession of a current class C wastewater operator’s certificate in accordance with Florida Statutes 403.101 and 468.540 552 and Regulation 61E1241, F.A.C.

Treatment Plant Operator II: High school diploma or equivalent and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Possession of a current class B wastewater operator's certificate in accordance with Florida Statutes 403.101 and 468.540 552 and Regulation 61E1241, F.A.C.

Treatment Plant Operator III: High school diploma or equivalent and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Possession of a current class A wastewater operator’s certificate in accordance with Florida Statutes 403.101 and 468.540 552 and Regulation 61E1241, F.A.C.

Preferred:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Wastewater process control principles, use of hand tools, computer use and safety rules.

SKILL IN:

Chemistry, biology, mechanical working, process control and computer programs i.e. MS Suite, data management and SCADA systems etc.

ABILITY TO:

Operate plant with limited supervision, interpret results of process control tests and adjust plant accordingly, maintain proper log sheet, and communicate with preceding and following shift workers.
