About the Opportunity
This is a senior individual contributor role. The Manager title reflects the scope, autonomy and business impact of the position, including ownership of pricing, COGS and the internal audit programme, rather than people leadership.
The role sits where Finance, Operations and Accounting meet. You will own pricing and gross margin at SKU level, build COGS and duty estimates with suppliers and demand planning, control inventory receipt accounting and cycle counts with Operations, and run our weekly transaction review and internal audit programme.
The right person is part commercial analyst, part cost accountant and part auditor. You will be based in our Laval office next to the warehouse and Operations team, working closely with Accounting, FP&A, Sales, demand planning and our suppliers.
About Turning Point Brands Canada
TPB Canada is a high-growth consumer products business operating at the intersection of brand building, distribution, and digital commerce. We build and scale brands across Canada with an operator mindset, combining strong execution, commercial discipline, and a focus on long-term value.
The environment is entrepreneurial and intentionally low on politics. Ownership is real, autonomy is real, and accountability is clear. Ideas are encouraged, people are trusted to take initiatives from concept through execution, and mistakes are treated as part of the process. Leadership is hands-on, accessible, and direct.
Build brands. Own outcomes. Grow with us.
What You'll Own
Pricing & Revenue Management
Experience
Professional proficiency in French is required. Professional proficiency in English is also required in order to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in jurisdictions outside Quebec.
Why Join TPB Canada
You will own the numbers that sit at the heart of how this business makes money: what we charge, what our products really cost, and whether our controls hold up. That is a rare combination of commercial influence and financial rigour in one role, with a direct line to the CFO and visibility with the CEO.
The team is lean, the environment is low on politics, and the work is visible. If you want to stay in one narrow lane of finance, this is not the right role. If you want to sit where pricing, cost and controls meet and make a measurable difference to margin, it is worth a conversation.

What You'll Own
Pricing & Revenue Management
- Own the price list: maintain list, channel and customer pricing, and govern every change before it reaches the ledger
- Analyse gross margin by SKU, brand, channel and customer; flag erosion and recommend price moves
- Model promotions, rebates, discounts and credit memos for margin impact before approval
- Prepare the monthly margin bridge (price, mix, cost, volume) for the management package
- Build standard cost and landed-cost estimates (product, freight, duty, brokerage) by SKU
- Work with suppliers on cost changes and with demand planning on volumes and order timing
- Estimate duties and tariffs by origin and HS code, and track estimate vs actual on every shipment
- Feed COGS assumptions into the budget, forecast and new-SKU pricing decisions
- Own inventory receipt accounting: goods received vs PO vs invoice, and the exceptions log
- Plan and review cycle counts with Operations; investigate and book variances
- Prepare inventory valuation, aging, obsolescence and reserve recommendations at month-end
- Reconcile the inventory subledger to the general ledger each month
- Review posted transactions weekly (sales, credit memos, AP, journals, payments) on a risk-based sample
- Run the monthly close review checklist and sign off on high-risk balances
- Deliver a rolling internal audit plan (pricing, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory, payroll, banking) and track findings to closure
- Prepare audit-ready support for the external auditors and tax advisors
- Gross margin reported monthly by SKU, channel and customer, with a margin bridge in the management package
- Every price list change approved and traceable before it goes live
- COGS and duty estimates within an agreed tolerance of actuals
- Cycle count accuracy at target, with variances explained and booked monthly
- Weekly transaction review completed on schedule and audit findings closed within 60 days
- A clean external audit with no material inventory or revenue adjustments
Experience
- CPA designation (or in progress) with 5+ years in CPG, distribution or manufacturing finance
- Hands-on experience in cost accounting, landed cost and inventory controls
- Audit or internal audit experience is a strong asset
- Advanced Excel, with working knowledge of Power BI and an ERP (Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar)
- You are commercially minded and comfortable challenging pricing and margin decisions with Sales
- You are as comfortable on the warehouse floor during a cycle count as you are in a month-end review
- You like owning a process end to end and do not need to be managed closely to deliver
- You hold yourself to an auditor's standard of evidence while still moving at the pace of the business
- You are actively using AI tools such as Claude in your day-to-day analysis
