Junior Legal & Compliance Officer

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a Junior Legal & Compliance Officer on behalf of our client, operating within the financial services and short-term insurance industry. The successful candidate will provide legal and compliance support through legal research, contract drafting and review, regulatory monitoring, documentation management and risk identification. This role will involve assisting with regulatory compliance, preparing reports and submissions, maintaining governance records, supporting audit processes and identifying potential legal and compliance risks within the business. Legal support & contract management Conduct legal research on relevant legislation and regulations. Assist with drafting, reviewing and updating contracts, agreements and legal correspondence. Maintain legal documentation and contract registers. Review business agreements and identify potential legal risks. Support senior staff with data analysis relating to complaints. Regulatory compliance Monitor compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and industry requirements. Assist with compliance monitoring activities and regulatory reviews. Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory authorities. Assist with regulatory submissions and notifications. Maintain regulatory calendars and compliance trackers. Monitor regulatory changes and maintain records of relevant updates. Governance & risk management Support governance processes, including committee documentation and minute-taking. Assist with identifying legal, regulatory and compliance risks. Support the implementation of risk mitigation controls. Escalate potential compliance issues to senior management. Assist with internal and external audits.
