Production Manager – Machine Shop

Production Manager – Machine Shop Camarillo, CA (On-site) $160K–$170K Base + 20% Bonus Established aerospace manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead precision manufacturing operations. This leader will own daily execution, workforce performance, quality, safety, and continuous improvement while helping build the next generation of plant leadership. The position offers potential long-term advancement into broader operations leadership. Required: 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including direct leadership of production teams. Aerospace manufacturing experience and working knowledge of AS9100 required. Strong hands-on experience leading precision machining / machine-shop operations. Demonstrated ability to improve safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. Experience managing frontline personnel and collaborating with engineering, quality, and maintenance. Bachelor’s degree in engineering Nice to Have's: Experience in high-mix, precision electro-mechanical or aerospace component manufacturing. Exposure to capital equipment planning, labor relations, and succession-ready plant leadership. Responsibilities: Lead daily machine-shop production, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet delivery, quality, and cost goals. Manage and develop manufacturing employees through coaching, hiring, training, performance reviews, and accountability. Maintain compliance with AS9100 quality standards, safety requirements, corrective actions, and applicable labor agreements. Partner with manufacturing engineering and quality to improve machining processes, routings, throughput, scrap, and first-pass yield. Track operating KPIs, support budgets, and drive measurable continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee equipment readiness, preventive maintenance, tooling needs, and recommendations for capital investment. Coordinate with adjacent production areas to deliver on the overall manufacturing plan.
