What We Need:

The Senior Superintendent role is responsible for leading field operations on multiple projects or large complex construction projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedule, budget, and quality standards. The Senior Superintendent serves as the primary field project leader, overseeing trade coordination, site logistics, and daily execution while maintaining strong communication with project teams, clients, and stakeholders. The Senior Superintendent drives accountability across field staff and trade partners, proactively identifies and resolves risks, and ensures compliance with contract documents and safety requirements. Success in this role requires strong leadership, profound construction expertise, and the ability to manage complex project dynamics while mentoring junior-level team members and delivering high-quality results that meet or exceed client expectations.

 

What You'll Do:

Field Operations & Execution

  • Successfully manage multiple projects or large complex projects over $15M
  • Lead day-to-day field operations across multiple concurrent projects
  • Monitor trade partner workloads distribution to ensure tasks are being managed effectively at the project level
  • Enforce Redmond site standards for safety, quality, and organization
  • Coordinate trades to maintain workflow, sequencing, and productivity
  • Track field performance and address inefficiencies within the project team
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress and maintain quality
  • Address field issues to minimize impacts on schedule and budget
  • Implement established best practices for sequencing and execution
  • Align manpower with project needs in coordination with project leadership
  • Promote accountability and ownership among field staff on the project
  • Host On Site Trade Partner Kickoff Meeting at the beginning on the project
  • Manage and conduct weekly site Foreman meetings
  • Review field generated RFI from trade partners
  • Manage, lead and maintain a positive, communicative and collaborative site environment

 

Project Planning, Logistics & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules with trade partners
  • Partner with Project Managers to maintain detailed project schedules
  • Monitor critical path activities and long-lead items
  • Create pull planning and phase planning sessions
  • Monitor schedule performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Hold trade partners accountable to project milestones and contractual commitment
  • Provide field input during preconstruction and assist in planning efforts
  • Develop and manage site logistics plans for the assigned project, including access, deliveries, and site constraints
  • Identify risks and support mitigation strategies at the project level
  • Ensure alignment between schedule, budget, and field execution
  • Communicate trade partner performance issues to project leadership and preconstruction team

 

Project Lifecycle & Stakeholder Management

  • Oversee field execution from preconstruction through project closeout for assigned project
  • Coordinate communication with union building councils and business agents as required
  • Ensure compliance with union requirements throughout project execution
  • Serve as the primary field contact for clients, architects, and consultants
  • Lead project-level coordination and progress meetings
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones clearly to stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships at the project level
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve issues professionally
  • Support successful project turnover and client satisfaction at closeout
  • Maintain accurate and complete project documentation
  • Align field execution with project goals and team objectives
  • Always represent Redmond Construction professionally on-site and within the industry

 

Trade Partner & Financial Management

  • Support trade partner evaluation and prequalification efforts
  • Set clear expectations during trade partner onboarding
  • Monitor labor productivity and escalate potential cost impacts
  • Partner with Project Managers to support budget adherence
  • Identify scope gaps and assist in resolution
  • Support change management through documentation and communication
  • Promote efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials
  • Track field-related cost drivers and communicate risks
  • Maintain productive working relationships with trade partner’s workforce and management
  • Deescalate or mediate trade partner conflicts and document accordingly

 

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Implement project-specific quality expectations aligned with Redmond standards
  • Execute quality control plans and inspection processes
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Identify and address deficiencies in a timely manner
  • Coordinate required third-party inspections and testing
  • Promote accountability for high quality and strong performance within the project team
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and issues
  • Coordinate with design teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Manage punch list development and completion
  • Deliver a finished product that meets or exceeds project and client expectations

 

Safety Leadership

  • Collaborate with Redmond safety director in the development of a site-specific safety plan
  • Implement Redmond safety programs on the assigned project
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards
  • Lead regular safety meetings, audits, and site inspections
  • Enforce trade partner compliance with safety requirements
  • Identify and proactively address jobsite hazards
  • Support incident response, investigation, and corrective actions
  • Promote safety awareness among all project personnel
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting
  • Collaborate with trade partner’s safety teams to improve site conditions
  • Reinforce a culture of safety and accountability on-site

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise and support field staff on the assigned project
  • Coordinate with local building departments and authorities as required
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members
  • Support development of junior staff through project-based mentorship
  • Foster collaboration between field and project management teams
  • Support onboarding of new field personnel
  • Encourage professional growth and continuous improvement
  • Lead by example in professionalism and work ethic
  • Build a cohesive and effective project team

 

Company Initiatives & Marketing Support

  • Support project pursuits and client interactions as requested
  • Reinforce Redmond Construction’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions
  • Provide field input for proposals, logistics plans, and schedules
  • Assist with development of project visuals and marketing materials
  • Engage with clients and partners at the project level
  • Support implementation of company standards and tools
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives at the project level
  • Share project lessons learned with internal teams
  • Contribute to maintaining a strong company reputation through project execution
  • Participate in industry events as opportunities allow to stay informed and network
  • Maintain former client relationships while continuing to build new relationships

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Min 10–15+ years of experience as a commercial interior Superintendent, ground up experience a plus
  • Proven ability to manage highly detailed corporate interior projects
  • Professional communication skills with project partners and clients
  • Experience with high-rise commercial tenant improvement work (required)
  • Experience managing sitework, structural work, MEP coordination, finishes, punch and turnover
  • Ability to identify potential issues during preconstruction and early project stages, and resolve them collaboratively, proactively, and openly
  • Comfortable pitching and interviewing for new client work
  • Experience managing other Superintendents on projects
  • Ability to provide mentorship and support to junior team members
  • Multi-state experience a plus
