About the Role
Regional Property Services Inc. is seeking a Assistant, Building Technician to join our team, to support our building located at 2045 Portobello Blvd., Ottawa, ON K4A 5P7.
In this role, you’ll complete suite turnovers including painting, drywall repairs, fixture replacements, and general cleanup, while also assisting with day-to-day maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support. You’ll contribute to keeping the community clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Suite Turnover
- Performs all turnover efforts for vacant suites, including removing trash, drywall repairs, painting, replacing or repairing fixtures such as door handles, cabinet hardware, blinds, and light fixtures, assessing and repairing appliances as needed, and assisting the cleaning team with general cleanup of the suite after turnover is complete.
- Ensure all work meets community standards and follows safety regulations.
General Maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repair work for community systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support, under the direction of the Maintenance Technician.
- Report preventative maintenance needs or major repairs to Maintenance Technician, assisting with repairs.
- Assists with routine work orders from residents.
- Participates in On Call rotation to support after hours needs.
Community Upkeep
- Assists with cleaning and community upkeep when not engaged in suite turnover or work orders.
- Performs other duties as directed by leadership or as the position evolves.
About you
- Minimum 1 year of experience in experience in maintenance, general labor, custodial, or apartment turnovers or other proven competency in a similar position.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs., climb ladders, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Must have and retain a valid driver’s licence and legally operable vehicle as on call duties are required.
- Bilingualism is an asset, but not a requirement.

This position is to fill one (1) existing vacancy. The salary range for this role is $40,000 – $46,000/year.
