Rent the Runway (RTR)  is transforming the way we get dressed by pioneering the world’s first Closet in the Cloud. Founded in 2009, RTR has disrupted the $2.4 trillion fashion industry by inspiring women with a more joyful, sustainable and financially-savvy way to feel their best every day. As the ultimate destination for circular fashion, the brand now offers infinite points of access to its shared closet via a fully customizable subscription to fashion, one-time rental or ownership. RTR offers designer apparel and accessories from hundreds of brand partners and has built in-house proprietary technology and a one-of-a-kind reverse logistics operation. RTR has been named to CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” five times in ten years, and has been placed on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list multiple times.

About the Role

~1 min read

Rent the Runway is looking for a Brand Marketing Manager to own the campaign moments and community experiences that define how RTR shows up in culture. You'll develop and execute bold, insight-driven 360° marketing campaigns that bring our brand to life across every channel—from NYFW to wedding season to summer travel and beyond. You'll design and produce our tentpole events and community programming that deepen customer connection and spark cultural conversation.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is part strategist, part operator, part community builder—who thrives in the details, loves turning strategy into action, and moves seamlessly between big-picture thinking and execution. You'll play a key role in how women discover and experience Rent the Runway, translating business priorities, consumer insights, and product stories into impactful campaigns, events, and brand moments that drive brand relevance and business growth. You think strategically about brand narrative and customer storytelling—and you live in the details. You hate to see a deliverable slip or a cultural moment missed.

  • Translate strategic direction from the Director into tactical briefs that empower our creative and channel teams to deliver breakthrough work. You'll manage brief calendars, coordinate feedback loops, and ensure every brief is crystal-clear on what we're trying to accomplish and why.
  • Develop key marketing tools and deliverables, including campaign briefs, launch plans, messaging frameworks, and strategic presentations that inspire teams and secure alignment.
  • Serve as a key POC for the creative team on campaign strategy, messaging, and deliverables. You'll be embedded in the development process, translating marketing strategy into actionable creative direction while protecting the integrity of our briefs in coordination with Creative Production & Creative Operations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional campaign alignment. You'll lead kickoffs and status meetings with Growth, CRM, Social, Site, Fashion, and Product teams to keep everyone in lockstep and ensure campaigns are synced across channels.
  • Serve as a brand custodian. You'll maintain brand integrity across all customer and community touchpoints, ensuring every activation is on-brand, reflects our values, and deepens community trust and belonging.
  • Bring the RTR vision to life through seasonal storytelling, product launches, and key brand moments that deepen customer connection and drive brand relevance.
  • Design and own our community and customer engagement strategy. You'll develop tentpole event series and ongoing community programming that deepen customer connection to the brand, from intimate activations to cultural moments.
  • Identify opportunities to increase cultural relevance and expand the brand's reach through partnerships, brand positioning, activations, and community-building efforts.
  • Execute end-to-end event production and community initiatives. You'll own project plans, timelines, vendor management, budgets, partnerships, and on-site logistics—with obsessive attention to detail and a relentless focus on brand alignment. You'll develop and oversee ongoing editorial series, community experiences, and customer touchpoints that build brand loyalty and drive engagement.
  • Bring a community-led, insight-driven approach to every campaign. You'll stay connected to customer feedback, community sentiment, and real-time cultural moments—surfacing insights and opportunities to keep our brand relevant, resonant, and in conversation with our audience.
  • Lead post-campaign recaps, synthesizing performance data and creative learnings across channels, then translate insights into directives for what to repeat, evolve, or stop. Partner with Growth, CRM, Site and Social on campaign tracking and performance optimizations. You'll help identify patterns in what works, bring a brand lens to performance decisions, and ensure our campaigns are building long-term brand value alongside short-term performance wins.
  • Track brand health metrics and competitive landscape continuously. Monitor key metrics across awareness, consideration, sentiment, and engagement. Stay connected to the competitive landscape and cultural shifts to identify threats and opportunities, translating insights into strategic recommendations that keep RTR positioned as a cultural leader while driving customer engagement.
  • Use AI to accelerate performance analysis, extract insights from campaign data, identify patterns and opportunities, and automate reporting processes—freeing you to focus on strategic recommendations and creative optimization.
  • 4-6 years of brand marketing, campaign management, or marketing operations experience at a consumer, e-commerce, or direct-to-consumer brand
  • Proven track record shipping multiple concurrent campaigns on time and on brand, with obsessive attention to detail and a relentless hatred of slippage
  • Execution-focused marketer with strategic awareness. You understand brand narrative and customer storytelling deeply enough to translate direction into brilliant briefs and campaigns. You don't need to set the strategy—you excel at bringing it to life flawlessly across every channel.
  • Omnichannel campaign expertise. You understand how messaging, creative, and tactics need to align across channels, and you can coordinate across teams without authority.
  • Expert systems thinker. You're proficient in Asana and comfortable with Figma, Google Analytics, and Looker. You're curious about and comfortable experimenting with AI tools to enhance workflows—from performance analysis to creative optimization. You love building processes that allow teams to scale without sacrificing quality.
  • Cross-functional orchestrator. You're comfortable being the POC across creative, growth, product, and external partners. You solve problems, clear roadblocks, and drive alignment through relationship and clarity.
  • Communication skills at multiple altitudes. You can write a tight brief for the creative team and a clear executive update for leadership. Your thinking is sharp and your communication is direct.
  • Community-led marketer with real-time cultural awareness. You stay connected to customer feedback, community sentiment, and emerging trends, translating them into actionable insights that keep our brand culturally relevant.
  • Deep understanding of the women's fashion landscape, consumer trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving digital ecosystem.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset by leveraging data, insights, and journey mapping to inform campaign strategy and optimization.
  • Experience in fashion, retail, lifestyle, or DTC (a plus). You understand the relationship between brand narrative, product, and customer loyalty—and you understand the RTR customer.
