MarketingSEO Specialist

Someone in Phoenix just inherited their grandmother's dining set and has nowhere to put it. They might Google "furniture donation pickup near me." They might ask ChatGPT. Either way, we want ReSupply to be the answer they find. That's this job.

You'll own organic search at ReSupply from top to bottom: technical health, our local and service-area pages across the US, content, and how we show up in AI-generated answers. It's a hands-on role with no direct reports, so you'll be doing the work as well as setting the plan. You'll be based in our Belgrade office (hybrid) and work closely with the marketing team in Boston, including our paid search team, our web designer, and the engineers who ship changes to the site.

ReSupply picks up donated furniture and household goods from people's homes across the US and gets them to charities that can use them. A lot of charities can't afford to run their own trucks anymore, so we handle the pickups for them. Since 2015 we've kept more than 80 million pounds of stuff out of landfills and delivered over $90 million in goods to our 4,000+ charity partners across 48 states.

We're a veteran-founded US company headquartered in Boston, with a team in Belgrade and teammates in Guatemala. Donors pay for the convenience of a fast pickup, so marketing has a real job to do here: show people that ReSupply is the easiest way to give their stuff a second life.

Responsibilities

  • →Own the SEO roadmap and decide what matters most. We'd rather you fix the five things that move bookings than the fifty things a crawler flags.
  • →Keep the site technically healthy: crawling, indexing, redirects, canonicals, site speed, and structured data. Write tickets clear enough that an engineer can ship them without a follow-up meeting.
  • →Make our local pages worth landing on. We serve thousands of US zip codes, and someone searching for couch donation pickup in Tampa should find a page that actually helps someone in Tampa.
  • →Work out how ReSupply shows up in AI search (Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and whatever launches next month) and build a plan for it based on testing, not hype.
  • →Turn keyword and intent research into content briefs, and write or edit priority pages yourself when that's faster.
  • →Report on what organic search is actually worth to us: bookings and revenue, with branded and non-branded split out. Rankings are useful clues, not the goal.
  • →Earn links and mentions the honest way, through useful content and our charity partnerships.
  • →Borrow from paid search. Our ad accounts are full of real search terms and conversion data, and you're welcome to all of it.

Search is changing faster than it has in twenty years, and more and more people get their answer before they ever click a link. We want someone who finds that interesting rather than threatening. We use AI every day on the marketing team, and we'd expect you to as well. In practice, that means:

  • Using AI to speed up the heavy lifting, like clustering keywords, drafting briefs, writing regex and scripts, and digging through crawl exports. We'll ask you to show us how you do it.
  • Knowing the difference between AI-assisted content that helps people and mass-produced pages that get a site demoted. With thousands of local pages, that line matters a lot here.
  • Measuring AI visibility the way you'd measure anything else, with data: referral traffic from AI tools, how often we get cited, and whether any of it turns into bookings.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO, including at least a couple of years owning an organic program end to end.
  • Experience doing SEO for the US or another English-language market. US local search has its quirks (zip codes, service areas, Google Business Profiles), and you should know them or be ready to learn them fast.
  • Strong technical SEO. You're at home in Search Console, GA4, a site crawler, and a keyword research tool, and you can read HTML and structured data without help.
  • Local or multi-location SEO experience, ideally with service-area pages at scale.
  • Proof that your work drove leads, bookings, or revenue. Traffic charts on their own won't get you very far with us.
  • A point of view on AI search that's backed by your own tests, not LinkedIn hot takes.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. You'll write briefs, present results, and debate priorities with a US team every week.

Nice to Have

~1 min read
  • Experience at a consumer service, marketplace, or home services company
  • You've lived through a site migration and still have the redirect map
  • Some Python, SQL, or Apps Script for automating the boring parts
  • Month 1: Learn the site, the data, and the team. Set a clean baseline and audit what's there.
  • Month 2: Ship the first priority fixes and pilot improvements on a group of local pages.
  • Month 3: Report on what shipped, what moved, and what's next.

SEO takes time, and we know it. At 90 days we're looking for progress and direction, not miracles.

Our marketing team is in Boston, so we need at least five hours of overlap with US Eastern time each weekday. In practice, that usually means working something like noon to 8 p.m. Belgrade time. Outside of that, your schedule is flexible.

Send your resume (in English) and a short note (a few paragraphs is plenty) about one SEO project you're proud of: where things started, what you did, who you needed to get it done, and what happened to leads, bookings, or revenue. If you've worked on US or other English-language sites, tell us about it. Leave out anything confidential.

Optional, but we'll notice: ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI Mode "who can pick up my donated couch in Boston?" and tell us in two or three sentences what you'd do about the answer.

ReSupply is an equal opportunity employer. We make hiring decisions based on qualifications and the needs of the role, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, military or veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
