About the Role

~1 min read

We’re looking for a Solution Architect to be the technical engine behind our Asset Protection sales. You’ll partner with our sales team as the AP product expert — running discovery, building and delivering compelling demos, answering the hard technical questions, and giving prospects the confidence to buy. This is a pre-sales / sales-engineering role at heart: you win deals by translating what a retailer is worried about (shrink, organized retail crime, slow investigations) into exactly how RetailNext Asset Protection solves it.

You’ll thrive here if you love both the technology and the people. You’re as comfortable talking through IP networking, camera infrastructure, and POS integrations with an IT team as you are showing a loss-prevention director how to cut case resolution time in a live demo. You experiment, you figure out how things work in the real world, and you’re energized by helping customers see a better way of operating.

This is a high-impact seat on a growing product. What you hear in the field won’t disappear into a CRM — it shapes how we pitch, demo, and build Asset Protection going forward.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Serve as the technical lead on Asset Protection opportunities, owning every technical aspect of the sales cycle across hardware, software, and services
  • Run discovery to identify a retailer’s loss-prevention objectives and pain points, and translate them into the right RetailNext AP solution
  • Present and sell to every level of an account — from loss-prevention and IT teams to business and executive stakeholders
  • Manage multiple accounts and opportunities in parallel without dropping the technical thread on any of them
  • Build and deliver compelling AP demonstrations that tie capabilities — behavioral analytics, POS exception reporting, ORC and sweep detection, searchable video — directly to customer needs
  • Be the deep product expert the sales team reaches for: know the platform cold, including Aurora® sensor integration, cloud video, and how AP fits the wider RetailNext portfolio
  • Turn customer objections and competitive questions into clear, credible answers on the spot
  • Work with prospects in the pre-deployment phase to scope technical infrastructure — connectivity, APIs, POS and file-transfer integrations, camera compatibility, zone configuration
  • Contribute to detailed proposals and implementation plans, including scoping, quantification, and project planning
  • Complete RFI/RFP/RFQ responses and security and compliance questionnaires (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR)
  • Partner with Support Engineering to identify and troubleshoot technical issues — connectivity, zone configuration, reporting, and integrations
  • Provide technical training to customers and internal teams as needed
  • Support existing AP customers to keep them successful and surface expansion opportunities
  • Bring the voice of the field back to product and sales — what’s landing, what’s missing, what customers keep asking for
  • 5+ years in pre-sales / sales engineering or a comparable customer-facing technical role
  • Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals — routing, NAT, firewalls
  • Strong technical background across hardware and software, with the ability to make new technology work in real-world environments
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to present credibly to both technical and business audiences
  • A self-starter who works autonomously, manages multiple opportunities at once, and keeps stakeholders updated on progress
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and prospect meetings
  • Experience in loss prevention, asset protection, physical security, or retail technology
  • Familiarity with video surveillance, EAS, POS systems, or retail analytics
  • A degree in a technical field (data networking a plus)
  • Experience responding to RFPs and security/compliance questionnaires (SOC 2, GDPR)
