Senior Billing Manager

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, Peninsula. On-site, five days a week.
Type: Full time
Compensation: $190,000 to $230,000 cash, plus equity on a 4-year vest with a 1-year cliff. Relocation support provided.

Our client is a venture-backed voice AI company building AI agents that handle the sales, support and logistics calls enterprise contact centers once staffed with large human teams. Thousands of companies run on the platform, including Fortune 500 names in healthcare, travel and technology. Revenue has grown more than tenfold since the start of 2025 with a team of about 50, and the company was recently ranked the top place to work in the Bay Area by a major business publication.

Their 2026 goal is a full CX platform where AI workers act as frontline agents, QA analysts and managers, improving every customer interaction rather than waiting for a human to retune them.

This is the company's first billing owner. Revenue grew more than tenfold in under two years and enterprise and usage-based contracts now run through the business with no billing or AR function built around them. The person in this seat builds that from zero: the process, the systems, the controls, and eventually the team.

Enterprise accounts receivable, built from scratch. Invoices out on time, cash in predictably.

• Build the enterprise AR process from nothing: invoicing, collections cadence, cash application
• Own collections across enterprise accounts, including aging, DSO and disputes
• Set up invoicing for large contracts, including committed-spend and usage-based terms
• Work with Sales, Customer Success and customers' AP teams on escalations
• Choose and stand up the AR and billing tooling, automating whatever can be automated
• Guide the contract accountants and report on AR health

Must have:

• 6+ years in AR, billing or collections, including enterprise B2B
• Has built an AR or collections process from scratch at a high-growth SaaS or usage-based company
• Hands-on with billing and finance tooling such as Stripe, NetSuite or QuickBooks
• Confident working directly with large customers' AP and procurement teams
• Solid accounting fundamentals: AR aging, cash application, reconciliations

Nice to have:

• Usage-based or committed-spend contract experience
• CPA or audit background
• First finance ops hire at a startup

Less about checkboxes, more about:

• Zero-to-one building: how you set up AR where none existed
• Collections results: lower DSO, fewer aged balances
• Judgment with large enterprise customers in an invoice dispute
• Ownership under ambiguity

Four rounds: a recruiter conversation, a working session on billing-to-cash flow, a hiring manager conversation, and a half-day onsite that includes a live exercise and a customer dispute role-play.
