Controls Engineer, Mission-Critical Infrastructure

Riot is building the next generation of digital infrastructure — a growing footprint of liquid-cooled, mission-critical data center campuses across Texas backed by a multi-gigawatt development pipeline. We're looking for a hands-on Controls Engineer to lead commissioning and project delivery on-site, keep our operations teams running day to day, and help grow the next generation of our controls organization.

• →Lead on-site commissioning and project management across our active and upcoming deployments — including close-out, warranty resolution, and vendor management, which recur on every project we bring online
• →Own commissioning and vendor management for new deployments as they come online, including projects as large as 200 MW
• →Support monitoring, alarm thresholds, and controls integration for our liquid-cooled (direct-to-chip and immersion) infrastructure, working alongside our thermal and mechanical teams
• →Lead hands-on, on-site troubleshooting and technical support for our operations teams
• →Mentor and directly help develop junior controls team members, including team members transitioning into controls engineering roles
• →As your on-site workload stabilizes, grow into reviewing — and eventually co-owning — our controls standards and governance documentation

• 5-8 years of controls engineering experience, with direct data center or other mission-critical infrastructure
• Must have extensive experience with the integration and commissioning of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platforms.
• Hands-on commissioning and vendor management experience (RFP review, PSA negotiation and execution)
• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and OPC-UA
• Comfort owning incident response and change management for live, critical infrastructure
