VOLUNTEER

As a Volunteer with Rite of Passage, you’ll have the opportunity to support and encourage youth while working alongside a dedicated team. You’ll work in an assigned area under the guidance of a designated supervisor and help create a safe, positive, and supportive environment for both students and staff.

  Encourage and support students and staff by providing guidance and resources when needed.

  Help maintain and model the program’s standards, expectations, and positive behaviors.

• →

  Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students and staff.

• →

  Follow approved safety and physical-management procedures when required.Follow Rite of Passage policies, procedures, and applicable licensing requirements.

  Participate in required meetings, training, and staff development opportunities.

• →

  Complete other duties as assigned to support the needs of the program.

To become an approved volunteer, you must:

• Complete all required volunteer approval steps before working independently with students.

• Complete the Volunteer/Intern Application and Volunteer Agreement.

• Sign required confidentiality, ethics, background-check, child-abuse prevention, drug-free workplace, and medical-information authorization documents.

• Be at least 21 years old, unless prior approval is provided by the Program Director.

• Successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening.

• Be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Rite of Passage has been providing programs and opportunities for youth for more than 35 years. Our programs support young people from social services, welfare agencies, and juvenile courts through education, positive skill development, and supportive and therapeutic approaches.
