Rivel is currently seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of IT with the flexibility to join our team in a fully remote or hybrid capacity, if local to Westport, CT. This role will guide the company’s technology strategy, cybersecurity program, infrastructure, systems development, and IT operations while helping drive innovation and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who can balance vision and execution, provide strategic guidance, write code, and remain actively involved in implementation and problem-solving.

About Us
Rivel is the world's largest provider of investor perception studies and a trusted strategic advisor to public company leaders. For more than 35 years, we have helped management teams and boards strengthen investor confidence through research-driven insights, Investor Day strategy, messaging development, governance advisory and sustainability-related counsel. Our proprietary normative database and deep understanding of the investment community enables clients to make more informed decisions and communicate with greater credibility.

About You
You are a versatile technology leader with deep expertise in information security, systems engineering, software development, and IT operations. You enjoy solving complex business problems through technology and can communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are equally comfortable representing Rivel in technical client discussions, architecting solutions, writing and reviewing code, mentoring team members, and helping the business evaluate new technologies and opportunities. You thrive in an environment where you can combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution and have a passion for building secure, efficient, and scalable technology solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Guide the company’s IT strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity program, and technology roadmap.
  • Own the information security program, technical risk management, business continuity, and the technical and operational components of client security reviews.
  • Lead the technical investigation, containment, remediation, recovery, and documentation of information security incidents, partnering with Legal on regulatory, contractual, privacy, privilege, and notification requirements.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, networks, endpoint management, identity and access management, and business applications.
  • Architect, code, test, implement, and maintain internal applications, automations, integrations, data workflows, and AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency and support business growth.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and manage technology projects, vendors, software investments, and external technology partners.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to leadership and represent Rivel on the technical and operational aspects of client security and compliance discussions.
  • Partner with Legal to evaluate the security, privacy, contractual, and regulatory implications of new technologies, vendors, data uses, and business initiatives.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop internal IT staff and developers.
  • Implement and maintain technical controls, documentation, and processes that support applicable security, privacy, contractual, and governance requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT, systems engineering, software development, cybersecurity, or technology leadership.
  • Strong expertise in information security, cloud technologies, enterprise infrastructure, networking, and identity and access management.
  • Demonstrated hands-on software development experience, including coding, scripting, APIs, systems integrations, workflow automation, database or data-processing solutions, and business application development.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, vendors, and complex technology initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience supporting security audits, client questionnaires, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, make practical risk-based decisions, and remain hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Alignment with Rivel’s core values.

The base range of compensation for this role is $140,000 - $156,000. Compensation for this position is adjusted based on skill, effort, responsibility, education, training, credentials, geographic location, working conditions and/or experience.
