Patient Access Representative (Labor Pool - Emergency Department)

• →Obtains or validates patient information and registers patients into the software system, while providing a high level of customer service.
• →Ensures all necessary demographic and financial data are obtained and documented into the system.
• →Maintains patient safety through the correct patient identification practices. Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters relating to patient PHI.
• →Works daily reports and account work queues to ensure the integrity of the registration data.
• →Handles patient inquires related to registration.
• →Calculates payment information, accepts funds and credit accounts accordingly for Time of Service collections.
• →Ensures EMTALA rules and regulations are strictly adhered to when registering patients through the ED and Obstetrics.
• →Completes forms and collects documents as needed based on the registration type.

• High School Diploma or GED, (Required)

• 1 year Billing/Customer Service/Patient Registration (Preferred)

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) within 1 Year (Preferred)
