Customer Service Specialist Job Description

At Riley Life, the Customer Service Specialist position is an experienced office position responsible for supporting basic and advanced functions of the e-commerce fulfillment warehouse.  The role has general knowledge of warehouse systems and daily activities to ensure customers’ needs are met.  The role owns responsibility for maintaining company standards around operating and fulfillment processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Effectively communicate with customers through email, phone, virtual meetings and in person

-Ensure high standards of customer service including prompt handling of any complaints

-Any other duties requested by the general manager

-Fill in for department managers and the general manager as needed

-Assist with picking, checking, packing and shipping orders

-Receive inventory, complete cycle counts/inventory counts and update inventory in the warehouse management system

-Coordinate Flash Sales, Kitting and other projects

Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Manager in Training

-Speak and write English (bilingual a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and upper management 

-Use Microsoft software and Google Docs effectively

-Hold others accountable, inspect work quality and give feedback in a way that is inspiring and helpful

Education 

-High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 2 years of management experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Forklift Certification preferred, but not required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually working inside; however, the warehouse is not heated or cooled and is subject to change based on the weather outside.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
