Are you a Senior Go Engineer who has handled money in production and knows why financial systems are hard to get right?
As a Senior Golang Engineer you will help build the financial core of a mission-driven fintech platform: the systems that move money, keep the ledger, and produce the numbers partners, auditors, and regulators rely on. These services are written in Go, run on AWS, and are held to a higher bar than the rest of the platform, because when they are wrong, someone's money is wrong.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end ownership role. You will own core service components from design and implementation to rollout and on-call, working in a small, fast-paced, cross-functional team.
We are looking for someone with a strong sense of ownership who treats correctness, auditability, and reliability as first-class requirements, and who can clearly communicate technical decisions and trade- offs.
Responsibilities
~1 min read● Design and build financial services in Go (payments, disbursements, ledgering, reconciliation, and reporting) with correctness, auditability, and recoverability as first-class requirements.
● Own core service components end to end: design, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and on- call.
● Integrate with external financial partners such as banks, card processors, ACH/RTP rails, credit bureaus, and KYC/KYB vendors, including retries, partial failures, webhook ordering, settlement files, and partner outages with money in flight.
● Build automated reconciliation and exception handling, so breaks are detected automatically, explained clearly, and resolvable by operators without engineering involvement.
● Build reliability from the ground up, with automated testing, resilience, and data accuracy as first principles.
● Ship, monitor, and debug your own services on AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code.
● Write clear design docs, incident write-ups, and PR descriptions that others can act on.
● Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team that moves fast and fully owns its systems.
● 6+ years of experience building and operating backend services in production.
● Significant recent production experience with Go, including its concurrency model, error handling conventions, and common pitfalls.
● Direct experience with financial or transactional systems such as payments, ledgers, banking, lending, billing, or trading.
● Strong command of correctness patterns: idempotency keys, exactly-once effects over at- least-once delivery, optimistic concurrency, outbox/inbox patterns, sagas or compensating transactions, and immutable audit trails.
● Strong relational modeling and SQL skills (PostgreSQL), including isolation levels, locking, transaction boundaries, and safe migrations on live tables.
● Experience operating services on AWS and with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
● Solid understanding of money handling: integer minor units, rounding, and multi-currency.
Nice to Have
~1 min read● Experience in regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GLBA, FCRA) or working with external auditors.
● Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS, or equivalent) and their ordering and duplication challenges.
● Background in credit reporting, rent reporting, lending, or consumer fintech.
