Internal Substitute Teacher - Noel Campus

Location: This school-based position is 100% in person at one of our Rocky Mountain Prep campuses. All school-based staff are essential members of our campus community, working on-site each day alongside students, colleagues, and families to create a strong school community and support student growth and achievement. This position is not remote or hybrid.

Our Approach to Substitute Teaching AT Noel

At Rocky Mountain Prep Noel, substitute teaching is an important part of our turnaround strategy. Our Substitute Teacher provides consistent, high-quality coverage in ELA and Math classrooms so teachers can regularly step out of instruction for coaching, Weekly Planning Meetings, and Weekly Data Meetings. By maintaining strong instruction, classroom routines, and high expectations during these planned releases, the Substitute Teacher protects learning time for students while creating the space for teachers to strengthen their practice. This role requires flexibility, strong classroom management, and the ability to quickly build relationships while delivering teacher-provided lessons with consistency and care.

Substitute Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will...

• Provide instruction in ELA and Math classrooms using teacher-provided lesson plans, materials, and routines.
• Maintain safe, structured, and positive learning environments with high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Ensure instructional continuity while teachers participate in coaching, Weekly Planning Meetings, and Weekly Data Meetings.
• Follow an established coverage schedule and coordinate with teachers to ensure smooth classroom transitions.
• Take attendance, record required information, and provide clear notes to classroom teachers following coverage.
• Build positive relationships with students and maintain consistent classroom routines across multiple classrooms.
• Collaborate with school leaders and instructional coaches to respond to scheduling and coverage needs.
• Support the diverse learning needs of students, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred

Other Requirements

• Must possess at least one or more of the following:
  • 1-Year Substitute Authorization
  • 3- Year Substitute Authorization
  • 5- Year Substitute Authorization

• Within the first year of your employment, you’re required to complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours.
• Pass a background check.
• Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States.
• We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires.

Salary 

• This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary of $55,000 based on experience and qualifications.
