Your responsibilities are likely to include:
- →Helping develop credit-assessment and risk frameworks
- →Defining appropriate credit and risk principles
- →Advising on SME/business credit assessment
- →Supporting the development of credit decisioning approaches
- →Identifying appropriate financial and non-financial data inputs
- →Helping determine appropriate risk indicators and decision criteria
- →Working with Product, Data and Engineering colleagues to translate credit expertise into practical requirements
- →Supporting development and validation of credit-related methodologies
- →Advising on portfolio and concentration risk as the business develops
- →Supporting appropriate governance and documentation
- →Contributing specialist expertise to product and commercial discussions
- →Helping establish scalable credit-risk capability as the company grows
We are particularly interested in candidates with genuine hands-on credit expertise, rather than broad enterprise-risk experience alone.
You may be a strong fit if you have:
- Significant credit-risk or credit-assessment experience
- Strong understanding of business or SME credit
- Experience developing or materially contributing to credit frameworks or models
- Strong analytical and commercial judgement
- Experience interpreting financial and other relevant data
- Understanding of credit decisioning
- Experience collaborating with technical and Product teams
- Ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly
- Experience within financial services or FinTech
- Ability to operate independently within an early-stage environment

- SME lending

- Banking
- Alternative finance
- FinTech
- Credit scoring or decisioning
- Alternative data
- Portfolio risk
- Cross-border finance

This is a flexible, fractional engagement of approximately 6–8 hours per week within an early-stage FinTech venture.
It is designed for someone comfortable providing senior specialist expertise alongside other compatible professional commitments and with a structure centred on longer-term participation in company growth rather than a conventional package at this stage.
