Rover is looking for a Director of Pet Parent Journey & GTM to join our Pet Parent Organization. In this role, you will build and drive consistent go-to-market strategies and initiatives for all pet parent–facing investments, you will own pet parent communications strategy, alignment, and execution, and you will own the message architecture and journey documentation that every pet parent touch point ladders up to.

This will include owning the end-to-end global positioning, messaging, and channel strategies for the pet parent product roadmap and initiatives. This is a high-impact role that requires a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution. You will be equally comfortable aligning executive stakeholders on long-term journey strategy as you are digging into the day-to-day decisions that determine whether a pet parent books, returns, and stays.

You own the strategy across the areas below. Execution is delivered hand-in-hand with cross-functional partners, and your job is to define what good looks like, set the framework, hold the alignment, and make sure the pieces reinforce each other rather than fragmenting by team, brand, market, or channel.

  • Pet parent GTM. The end-to-end strategy for taking demand-side initiatives to market: positioning, channels, messaging, sequencing, and measurement, applied consistently across services, brands, and countries. You will partner with Product, UX, Marketing, International, and brand teams to ensure its effective and scalable execution.

  • Pet parent communications. A unified communications strategy: voice, segmentation, cadence, governance, quality bar, across both UX and non-UX touch points. You will partner with Lifecycle, Product, UX, and International to ensure its effective execution.

  • Message architecture and journey documentation. The brand-aligned message pillars for pet parents and the single source of truth that all journey content must ladder up to, reviewed at launch and audited for consistency across live journeys.

  • Consideration and the active shopper. The alignment between off-platform communications and the active shopper journey in UX, so that lifecycle and consideration are developed as one plan rather than two that get reconciled after the fact. You will partner with UX, Lifecycle, and Performance Marketing.

  • Pet parent voice and feedback. The strategy and the mechanisms by which pet parent sentiment, feedback, and lived experience are measured, surfaced, and acted on. You define the signals, set the cadence, and hold the company accountable to what pet parents tell us. You will partner with Data Science, UX Research, Product, and Operations.

  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following fields: product marketing, B2C go-to-market, lifecycle or CRM leadership, product management, marketing, general management, or consulting roles in marketplace, platform, or two-sided business contexts.

  • Experience partnering with Product, UX, Data Science, and Engineering teams to create and execute on shared roadmaps and metrics.

  • Clear and structured written and verbal communication style, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and diverse teams to drive critical decisions.

  • Highly proactive, comfortable operating with minimal guidance in uncertain and ambiguous business environments.

  • Analytical rigor, with enthusiasm for modeling and measuring the impact of the initiatives you drive, including incrementality and holdout-based measurement.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience giving actionable feedback and coaching, and welcoming the same.

  • Comfortable working across US (Pacific Time) and Europe (Central European Time) timezones.

  • Bachelor’s degree. Marketing or business degrees preferred.

  • Experience in online marketplaces with a meaningful consumer demand side (services marketplaces, accommodation, mobility, delivery, e-commerce, or similar).
  • Demonstrated track record of growing the demand side of a marketplace at scale: acquiring, activating, converting, and retaining customers against business targets.

  • Experience running lifecycle or CRM programs as a cross-channel system rather than an email channel, including next best action or triggered journey work.

  • Experience building go-to-market frameworks from scratch and getting other functions to adopt them.

  • Experience with customer advocacy, community, or advisory programs.

  • Master’s degree.

  • Competitive compensation
  • 401k match
  • Long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout
  • Flexible PTO
  • Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Commuter benefits
  • Bring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)
  • Pet benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog or cat
  • Stocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches monthly
  • Regular team activities performed in-person and virtually
  • In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $172,779 - $229,797 with a 15% bonus. Additionally, Rover offers benefits to full-time employees.
  • The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.

  • At Rover, we’re driven by seeing our people succeed and grow, while doing our jobs better than ever before. We believe the best business outcomes come from a diverse set of perspectives and we’re committed to promoting an inclusive, inventive, and fun environment with amazing employees. We welcome and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
