Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate required. Effective 07/24/2025 If Bachelor's degree is held 1-year prior experience required.
Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist
If New York State license or limited permit is not held, must be hired within 90 days of graduation from New York State or APTA accredited physical therapist education program and meet Practice Exemption under New York State Physical Therapy License requirements.
If working in Homecare or traveling between locations, NYS license required

Minimum of 1 year of post-licensure practice as a Physical Therapist

Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
