Due Diligence Specialist

As part of our continued growth, RSM Malta is expanding its AFC & Compliance Function by recruiting a Junior Due Diligence Officer. 

• Perform thorough customer reviews, ensuring that all necessary information and documentation is collected and verified in accordance with RSM’s Policies and Procedures. 

• Responsible for the daily review and clearing of hits on the Firm’s screening tool and the necessary escalation (where necessary); 

• Review and update customer risk profiles and conducting customer risk assessments; 

• Completing due diligence reports to a high standard, concisely outlining all of the relevant information and identified risks (if any); 

• Escalate suspicious activity or customers who are high risk with senior management in line with internal policies and procedures.

• Navigating public databases and internal systems to identify and verify due diligence information; 

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of AML procedures and controls.

• Conduct transaction reviews and flag suspicious activity for further investigation.

• Maintain and update AML-related documentation, registers, and audit trails.

• Perform any other duties delegated by management as needed. • Conduct due diligence reviews and risk assessments on prospective customers, ensuring adherence to AML/CFT regulatory requirements & internal policies and procedures. 

• Perform due diligence and screening on prospective customers as part of the onboarding process; 

• Have an MQF Level 4 qualification or better in a relevant field;

• Ideally be in the process of obtaining a professional qualification related to the role;

• Have over 1 year of professional experience in a similar role; 

• Have an understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements and obligations;

• Have a good command of both English and ideally Maltese and the ability to communicate clearly & professionally by telephone, email & in person;

• Organised, knows how to prioritise tasks and able to meet deadlines; 

• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; 

• Strong interpersonal skills; 

• A positive ‘can do’ attitude and an ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion;
