The Rutgers University Foundation (RUF) seeks an organized, eager, and detail-oriented Rutgers University student to serve as the Foundation Communications Team Social Media Intern. The intern will be responsible for engaging with the Rutgers community directly on social media platforms, administrative responsibilities, and assisting with content creation.

  • Monitor Rutgers Foundation social media channels for important updates, answering questions, collecting user-generated content and interesting stories.
  • Assist with both photo and video content creation, both organic content and event coverage content.
  • Oversee social listening and content mining.
  • Contribute to analyzing reports to identify themes that will drive social media strategy.
  • Assist with organizing tags of content in Sprout Social to help with efficient reporting.
  • Maintain the tracking spreadsheet of social media influencers.
  • Assist with scheduling content and tagging appropriate partners as needed.
  • Lead efforts of coding or tracking social media activity.
  • Organize and maintain creative assets in Canva, including files, templates, and social media content.
  • Compile and analyze social media reporting by pulling performance analytics and managing Affinaquest tracking and coding.
  • Maintain YouTube content by updating video thumbnails, end screens, formatting, and links.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

This position is for current or former Rutgers University students. Preference will be given to students who are pursuing or have pursued degrees in Communications or Marketing.

 

Clarity of focus while juggling complex projects or deadlines.

The offered position is classified as an office-centric hybrid position. Colleagues working under an office-centric hybrid arrangement have a primary workstation in a university or foundation location and are in the office between one and five days a week. The frequency with which they are present in the office depends on their role and function and the interdependency of other functions.
